Peter Scott

I started out as someone who feared deep water and disliked swimming lessons. I wanted to be in the water but was timid growing up.

Now I enjoy all kinds of aquatic adventures, enjoying open water swimming, finswimming, seahiking, and freediving. I love coaching others and helping them feel as inspired as I do about the things you can do in the water.

My passion is helping people feel confident in the amazing aquatic wilderness, whether they start out in a pool or venture into open water. I especially enjoy helping people overcome fear and anxiety at any level.

I grew up swimming competitively and had become burnt out and bored with endless laps. Nevertheless, I was drawn to the water and spent much of my time participating in adventure swimming, snorkeling, skindiving, finswimming, freediving, and surfing.

Once I discovered that formal swimming strokes can also be approached with the same elements of comfort, grace, and technique that I applied and shared in the other aquatic activities, I was inspired to move forward as a coach. Learning to swim with ease, without the endless hours of grueling laps, was an exciting link for helping others find the confidence to explore the aquatic adventures that are possible and that I have been exploring in my ocean travels around the world.

I really enjoy taking a detailed approach and encouraging others to have a curiosity for learning and possibility.
